Last weekend (31st May) I was lucky enough to attend the .net awards in London. I was a nominee in the best online portfolio category. It was the first ‘professional’ event I had ever been to and I loved every minute.

The venue was the very impressive Grand Connaught Rooms and Josh Widdicombe presented the awards. The three course meal was excellent and so too was the free champagne and wine. The event had many sponsors including Internet Explorer, Github and shutterstock.

I managed to get to the final three in my category but unfortunately I was beaten by Stephen Burgess. His portfolio is brilliant so there’s no shame in losing to him.

Overall it was a great day out with my childhood friend Mark and some really talented folk from the industry. I’ve attached some pictures below (It ended pretty drunk).
