You might have noticed that I’ve been pretty quiet online these past few months. You may also have noticed that a few months ago I said I had some really exciting news. After a few months of planning today’s the day I reveal that news.
Exactly a year today, on the 1st September 2016, I will be cycling 3200 miles over 28 days from San Fransisco to New York to raise money for two children charities. There’s quite a lot of story behind the ride so you should head over to the website to have a good read.
I feel really good to be taking on such a huge challenge and as someone who has dedicated the last three years of my life since university to the web, it’s feels even better to be doing something that’s not web related. I still love my career and job, I’ve had two weeks off work I’m really looking forward to going back tomorrow. However a few months back I did start to get a little down that all I did was focus on web stuff 24/7. I don’t actually get much from it on a personal/life level as I would from other activities/things. In short I felt like I was wasting my life a little. Cycling, and thinking about this ride, has been godsend and has really made me feel much more content.
I won’t be blogging on here much over the next year. This ride is going to take up a huge chunk of my life and that’s something I’m really excited about. I would massively appreciate it if you could share/tweet/like/sponsor Ride For The Child and follow my journey over the next year. The links are below.
